Is this genuine or a phishing email? Help Please
Hi All
I got an email from an address ending @amazon.com last week (This email did not appear in my messages within Amazon) so I assumed a scam. It said along the lines of "We have indicators that your business may not be registered in the UK for VAT purposes" and that disbursements worldwide but be blocked & I had 60 days to provide documentary evidence via a link in the email I received last Thursday.
I waited until 1130 GMT to check & noted that only a couple of hundred was showing as an available balance, considerably less than last night. But no disbursement email & on checking Amazon again about half a hour later then showed the balance back to where it was last night, but still no email from Amazon in my messages?
Can I ask people's opinion on this? I am airing back towards it being genuine but can't get past the lack of comms directly into my messages.

It is not a scam, it is genuine. There are loads of threads already about this if you search, this is the main one:

But be prepared, it is a long read. Sellers are now contacting their MPs and the media to complain about this.
