Why am I not getting the buybox?
Hello,
I’m trying to understand how the buybox mechanics works in order to improve my numbers.
I understand that there are plenty of variables that might affect getting or not the buybox, not only the price. the thing is, I can’t understand what’s going on with this part, and I would like to get any insights:
So, for this part:
- I have a better price (21.81 € vs 22.2. €)
- The shipment terms and delivery date are exactly the same.
- Our performance metrics are good at the moment.
What could be the reason to not get the buy box here?

the current one in the buy box is a higher priced item but has free postage - your price is cheaper but has postage costs at 7.50 euros so the total price is much higher
(its also sold by Amazon so they will always take the buy box unless you are priced A LOT lower than them)

Your total price including shipping is higher + amazon are offering a quicker delivery time frame. You’ll probably need to be 15% cheaper than Amazon and offer Free shipping too. As others have said, you can’t really compete with amazon.

Yes, of course, sorry I didn’t take into account that the shipping costs changes if you are not from Spain.
If you are, the shipping costs are free like they are in the buybox, and the total cost is lower. Also the the delivery time for Spain is exactly the same.
I understand that it might not make a lot of sense to post this here in UK forum, but this forum usually is much more alive than the spanish ones and I wanted to better understand how this works, not just because of this particular item.

To get the buy box from some one else who is selling on the same listing you need to go 5% less inc free postage but not if Amazon are selling it you will be wasting your time and lose any way.

If anybody actually knows (as opposed to think they know) how to get the buy box why would they reveal it here? It would destroy a valuable advantage they have over their competitors.

The single most important factor in winning the buy box is if your price falls within what Amazon call a competitive price. This is a price Amazon base on retail prices on and OFF Amazon.
Yes, we know this is against many regulations and laws, the EU are currently investigating but unless Amazon think your price is fair, then forget the buy box.
