When you update your product to a newer version of the original, you need to create a new ASIN with a new UPC in accordance with the Product detail Page Rules.

It is frustrating to lose your reviews and have to start building them up again.

Well, I have some good news for you!

Did you know that you can add a widget to your original ASIN through the Adding or removing newer model link on detail page on Product Page tool?

This will help drive customers to your newer product and show them you have an improved offering, giving them the option to purchase your updated product.

When you add a newer version widget, the detail page will display "There is a newer model of this item" generally below the listing's bullet points.

Here are the steps to follow:

1. You'll first need to verify if your ASINs are eligible for adding a newer version.

To be classified as a newer model, the product must have the same function, quantity, type, and style as the previous model.

These newer model relationships don't match to the variation relationship. Variation products are essentially identical except for size or colour.

2. Once confirmed your items fully meet the requirements, you'll open the Adding or removing newer model link on detail page.

3. First, you select whether you're looking to add the newer version or remove it.

4. Next, you enter both ASINs in the respective boxes, with the original ASIN being at the top.

5. If your items are eligible, the newer version will display on your original ASIN.

Note: Remember creating improper variations constitutes a policy violation.
