We had a similar problem not too long ago. Amazon would track some DX parcels, but not all. Amazon would also class the ones not trackable as invalid, even though it was a valid tracking ID.

It turns out, that the actual issue was with DX, they had to enable something on their end to allow Amazon to take the information needed for VTR.

We sent an email to Service.Desk @ DXDelivery .com stating that Amazon were having issues with receiving their tracking data, that this was causing issues for us and could they look into it.

A day or 2 later we got a reply from DX stating that they had reconfigured the account for Amazon tracking. Since then, our VTR issues seem to have stopped (fingers crossed).

I raised this with the Amazon Seller Team too, It's been impacting our VTR rate too.

We binned DX because of this - its a configuration within DX. Defo sounds like a DX issue. They (DX) said they sorted it for us but we lost faith. Not used them since. They have to do something on the backend of your account to correct it. They (DX) may have a software update that's knocked your account settings out. Same thing occasional happens with other carriers - you get a group of tracking numbers that track within the couriers systems but Amazon cannot read them.

We have faced the same issue, we belived it may have been a linnworks issue. But reading this maybe not! What did it say when the tracking wasnt valid? Is it due to them requiring a postcode on their tracking platform?

In true Amazon fashion they change things that are working fine and make an absolute mess of them, We used to send most of our products with Royal Mail second class a postal service which Amazon themselves offer then BOOM!! VTR dropped to 80% from 100% and Amazon stopped us selling in certain categories because of it! 10 years we've been selling on Amazon and I'm used to this kind of thing now. They're making it more and more impossible to run a successful business.

And don't get me started on Compliance documents or Seller Support!!!

We are having the same issue with BJS at the moment. Amazon are telling us we're using invalid characters and/or that BJS aren't an integrated carrier. When we correct them they double down giving us examples I believe they know they are wrong giving us. Being a bit of a nightmare at the moment.
