Unless you are a carrier integrated with Amazon, you cannot confirm with tracking. You can indeed confirm with no tracking, but your VTR will take the hit.

Your VTR will only take a hit if the total of the item plus shipping is over $30. If it is under $30 it will not affect it. In this case, I have delivered the package to the address myself. If no one is home, I have taken a photograph of the item at the door plus the address number of the house. Then I email these photographs to the buyer indicating their package has been delivered and thanking them for their order.. The customers have been very appreciative of the speedy delivery. If the total is over $30 then I would mail the item to get the tracking so it does not affect my VTR. Hope this helps and best of luck.

Get the buyer to sign a confirmation of receipt. It might have 'some' weight in a dispute. Just DON'T leave it somewhere, give it to a human. Lastly, I would alert the buyer you wish to hand-deliver it, in case it's an issue. (I imagine it would be considered excellent customer service). I've done it, offered the shipping paid, and it was refused; as she was so grateful. Good luck.

ps. If you expect any dispute, don't do it...obviously

you can do it if the value is under $30 as it is not VTR required. and like the other fellow seller mentioned you better hand it over to a person and have a signature( use software like Shipday allows collecting POD image + Signature)

I don't know of any Amazon rule that outright prohibits self-delivery...

If you do many FBM orders, a single missing tracking code shouldn't really matter. I've had Canada Post/Purolator shipments not register on the tracking even when properly delivered.

Just keep above the 95% target. But honestly I've dipped below a few times without consequence.

I've self-delivered a few times for FBM orders in my own Toronto neighbourhood and customers were amazed. I think most buyers appreciate the personal touch - it's a good way to get some stellar feedback. Deliver in the evening when they're likely to be home. If not, snap a photo.

Hey @Seller_2H5jmv57igxHJ,

I understand your concern about delivering an order yourself and confirming the shipment on Amazon. Based on the comments from other sellers, here are a few key points:

Self-delivery is allowed, especially for low-value orders under $30 where tracking is not required. This won't negatively impact your Valid Tracking Rate (VTR).

For orders over $30, providing tracking is recommended to maintain a good VTR score. A low VTR can potentially lead to account implications.

When self-delivering, it's advisable to:

  • Inform the buyer beforehand about your intent to hand-deliver.
  • Hand over the package directly to the recipient and obtain a signature or proof of delivery (photo of package at the door with address).
  • Email the proof to the buyer as confirmation.

Confirming shipment without tracking: While not ideal, you can confirm shipment without tracking for this specific order. However, do consider providing tracking for future higher-value orders.

I hope these points clarify the self-delivery process and tracking requirements. For detailed guidelines, you can refer to Amazon's help pages on Valid Tracking Rates and Shipment Confirmations.

As a community manager, I appreciate your effort to provide excellent customer service through prompt delivery. Keeping buyers informed and obtaining proper documentation can ensure a smooth self-delivery experience while protecting your seller metrics.

Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. I'm here to assist you further. (Not much I can add, as your fellow sellers assisted here in the best possible way :D)
