GPSR Help

We sell to the UK and NI,

Do we still need to upload all the relevent documents etc? We have over 900 listings.

If so how do we upload to our existing listings?

For Amazon UK - amazon say you don't need to - but GPSR will still apply in Northern Ireland.

That is all amazon advise.

GPSR is a nightmare by the looks of it for resellers. Not sure how amazon expect us to gather all the required information to be able to sell into the EU.

As I understand if you supply to Northern Ireland you have to comply with EU GPRS, due the ;Norther Ireland Protocol'

This is the reply I received from Amazon Selling Support about UK & Norther Ireland.

I understand that you’re contacting us regarding GPRS (General Product Safety Regulations).

Please be informed that the offer on UK based seller do not need to comply with this new legislation (hence will not be enforced)

If GSPR info is missing, we will only restrict shipping to northern Ireland addresses (not remove the offer).

Ive found the support on this subject to be woefully inadequate. Their systems dont work properly despite them having a year to get this ready. Really poor.

It seems that non CE marked items cant assign a EU Representative either... Its just a mess.

Im thinking they know that there will be some extra transitioning time.

This whole thing is a bloody joke to be honest. The thing I'm confused about, and I'm not sure if this only applied to e bay, is article 51. It states any items sold into the EU before this date, basically doesn't need this information applied.

The thing I don't get, is how will customs/whoever is checking this info, know which items are exempt under article 51, and which aren't?

I honestly don't imagine them opening every single parcel, seeing what is inside, and then checking if it needs this information or not included..

I haven't seen mention of article 51 when it comes to amazon, but I doesn't sound like it would just be an e bay thing, again because how will customs/whoever know it's an ebay/amazon/website sale.

We haven't bought any new stock except for spring lines this year, so techincally all our stock should be exempt, under article 51, as those items have already been sold into the EU marketplace.

We are most likely just going to shut off EU/NI shipping on Amazon, as it's really easy to do, but with regards to our site and e bay, we are leaving our listings as is, and we will see what happens to them, because according to them with article 51, all our items should be able to be posted into the EU WITHOUT any GPRS info attached.

The thing is, when I have spoken to e bay about this, 3 times now, they can never give me a solid answer, so how the hell do they think we know what we're doing, when the people who are enforcing it don't even know themselves....

This whole thing is a farse.....
