Struggling to be profitable

Hi everyone,

I’ve been selling for an year now and I have to be honest with myself - i struggle to make profit. I sell around 50 units a week FBA and its just not profitable for me. I use one of em spreadsheets with deals and the deals are reasonable i would say. I add 3.5£ to each product because of my expenses, but it seems like everytime when my products reach amazon the price is already very low. How can i turn around everything and make it profitable ? I use fetcher to measure profits, is that thing even accurate ? Any advice would be appreciated. As i said I’ve been doing it for a year and there is no profit at all I have actually lost money. I do use automate pricing but very carefully and the minimum price is set to make at least 20% profit and etc… I know how to use seller central and don’t consider myself a noob but making profit is really difficult. I do OA. Thanks.

choose products that are not price sensitive and don’t have loads of other sellers

if you have lost money, it can’t that good or you are not using it correctly

How do you measure profit? Before or after costs. As you are not making a profit (in your words), there’s something up with your way of working

No idea what OA is, maybe it’s just me

In summary, IMHO, I believe that you are underestimating your costs and need to be more realistic with your pricing and product choice. Also, don’t rely on deals software, whatever that does.

I am 100% FBA,I do not use % profit as a my main basis for product selection & price.I know exactly how long it takes to prepare & pack, for example,30 units of a product & how much those 30 will earn me net of costs.Every product I sell must earn me a minimum of £20 an hour, many earn me far more than that.I have used this system for a couple of years & it works perfectly for me.

I had a look at fetcher off of your reference and whilst it looked good at a first impression we would need to input so many things into it that I’d need to employ someone full time to do this so I’ll stick to my spreadsheets and gut for now. Good luck though.

Fetcher is very simple actually and all you have to put in is 2 numbers. Wouldn’t recommend it though.
