UK seller needs help with Amazon FBA Turkey

Dear All,

We are new to Amazon and have a question. Appreciate it if someone could help. any contribution is much appreciated.

  • I have a limited company in the UK but the goods I will be selling are physically produced and stored in Turkey.

  • Is it better for me to ship the products from Turkey to Amazon’s UK warehouses for FBA, or deliver them to Turkey Amazon FBA warehouse in istanbul for selling globally? The latter perhaps not possible, hence I am here for your help.

  • In case you need this information: I am not a VAT customer in the UK, a newly set up limited company and I am resident in the UK. Only my supplier is located in Istanbul and I have been selling on aliexpress for the last 4 years with success having them as my main supplier.

Thanks so much in advance!

Kind regards

If you are resident in the UK and sell on Amazon Turkey (storing the goods there), then you would effectively need to register for Turkish VAT (or the equivalent).
And chances are, that they would require you to register for UK VAT first.
So unless you are a business outside of Amazon with a decent sized turnover, then you need to start small on the UK market, rather than trying to go all out, for worldwide sales.
It’s a lot more expensive to sell outside of your own country.

Dear Neil,
Thanks so much!
Clearly, I must initially focus on bringing the items to the UK and then start selling on Amazon.co.uk with or without FBA UK.
