Hi everyone,
I’m brand new to Amazon selling and could really use some guidance. I just took the leap and invested in everything I need to start selling used books through FBA: A Scoutly membership for sourcing, a barcode scanner, shipping supplies, a decent-size inventory of used books sourced from local thrift stores and independent booksellers, And of course, I signed up and paid for a professional Amazon Seller account
The goal was simple: start a small, used book business by giving pre-owned books a second life through Amazon. However, every single book I’ve tried to list so far has been restricted or gated, regardless of condition or category.
This is incredibly discouraging, especially since selling used books was the only reason I created and paid for the seller account. I'm feeling pretty lost, I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, or if there’s a hidden process I need to go through to get ungated for books or specific publishers.
Has anyone experienced this before? Are there workarounds? Do restrictions lighten over time with account age or sales? Is there something else I should try before giving up?
Any advice would be hugely appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help!
