Unable to close seller account - dormant over few years

Hi,

As above, been trying to close my account, but not able to. I did the following, but didn't receive any email from Amazon at all. NO confirmation, or why it can't be closed.

Go to Settings and click Account Info.

In the Account Management section, click Close Account.

Fill in all the required fields and click Send to submit your request.

You’ll receive a confirmation email once your account has been closed, or an email detailing why your account can't be closed at this time and additional steps required.

Since it's dormant, credit card and bank account are obviously outdated.

Though the account was dormant, over the years, Amazon managed to "find" one of my inventory, return it to my account and it somehow got sold.... Resulting in outstanding balance in my account due to this. I do not wish to retrieve the balance as I'm unsure of the VAT implications. (I'm no longer VAT registered in the UK as I no longer sell in the Uk. I'm not a UK resident.)

Appreciate if anyone has any insights on how to just close this account without having to enter my credit card, bank account or any further VAT info. I simply don't have a company VAT to enter.

It seems there would be no way to permanently close your account without going through the whole verification process and inputting bank details etc., as you have an outstanding balance. Personally i would think not worth the hassle and effort, especially as you are not wanting to retrieve the balance.

IMO I would just leave it permanently dormant, as you no longer have company VAT or anything. Just a thought, I see you name is a Ltd - have you de-registered from Companies House ? - and make sure you have no inventory in any country.

What I have said may be totally wrong as I am not VAT registered and not a Ltd, but just my thoughts !!!
