Inbound Perfumes to Amazon FC in Ireland

Hi,

I am looking to sell perfumes on Amazon Ireland. So far I know that their is only one FC in Ireland. Could anyone guide if the FC accepts Hazmat goods such as perfumes for FBA.

I have the SDS, Dangerous goods certificates etc. in place for enrolment in the FBA dangerous goods program however before starting the listing process I want to ensure that I will be able to use FBA services in Ireland. Any guidance will be much appreciated!

Many Thanks

Hi @Seller_tOb7uSYIcWl69,

Good question, and props for doing the groundwork before investing time in listings.

Unfortunately, perfumes fall under a specific product restriction for FBA. Under the Health and Beauty product restrictions (Fragrances subcategory), all perfume types, including Eau de Parfum, Eau de Toilette, Eau de Cologne, and gift sets, are classified as Unfulfillable due to being flammable liquids. This applies regardless of whether you're enrolled in the FBA Dangerous Goods (DG) Programme.

While the DG programme does allow some Class 3 flammable liquids in limited quantities, perfumes are specifically excluded at the product category level. The DG programme page notes that "certain dangerous goods can be sold on Amazon but are not eligible for FBA because they can't be stored in fulfilment centres."

Your SDS and dangerous goods certificates aren't wasted, though. You can absolutely sell perfumes as a merchant fulfilled (MFN) seller, handling storage and shipping yourself. You'll need to ensure your packaging and shipping comply with ADR regulations for flammable liquids, but the listing itself isn't restricted.

For reference, the relevant help pages are Dangerous goods identification guide (hazmat), FBA dangerous goods programme, and Health and Beauty product restrictions (Fragrances section).

Hope that saves you some time before going down the DG enrolment path!
