VTR and stamps

Hi all,

So reluctantly i started using buy shipping on Amazon on the 31st March due to the rediculous rule of not using stamps anymore.

I have just had a look and you can still select 1st and 2nd class stamps / franking as a confirmation method. Why is this still possible if we are not allowed to use it?

Also since i have changed to buy shipping my VTR still says N/A against it. Surely if i am using buy shipping it should at least state a number now?

I am only sending letters and large letters on amazon currently

You could still use them for some shipping if your metrics could support it. Can’t think why you would off the top of my head.

Vanilla (untracked) buy shipping is excluded from VTR which is why it shows N/A.

Summary

We will not calculate your Valid Tracking Rate for the following shipments (“VTR-exempt shipments”):

  1. Your domestic shipments delivered with untracked delivery services. Refer to the note below and to point 4-e below for more information.

4e To calculate Valid Tracking Rate, we can only exclude shipments with untracked delivery services as VTR Exempt Shipments if you provide the correct name of an untracked delivery service (go to Valid Tracking Rate (VTR) FAQ for more information regarding the correct indication of untracked delivery services) OR, for Royal Mail 1st and 2nd Class Letter Stamps, if you buy the label through Amazon Buy Shipping.

N/A is absolutely fine, don’t worry - it means you have sent nothing via a tracked method.

You’re allowed to use them, you’re just not allowed to allow your use of them to reduce your VTR below 95%.

I contacted them earlier this year about this and they said I did not had to worry.
Wasn’t sure why they said this but great.
I contacted them again yesterday and they said that it was because my VTR was below 95%
(the only reason was 2 unscanned by royal mail items. I send very few signed for. Just a few larger
value items)
When I queried this as it is currently 100% they came back and said oh yes that was 2 years ago and if
it was 100% it was not a problem. So I will carry on as I am. As I told them if I had to buy shipping from them I would simply close the account as I have a 3 year contract with my franking company about 6 months in.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Seller support had a photo in a folder that shows a “perfect health” dashboard and just check yours for anything that looks different to that image then assume that that must be a problem, even when it’s not.

N/A is absolutely fine for VTR. It’s as good as 100%.

Doesn’t the new rule only cover letters and not large letters? That’s certainly the way I read it but some people seem to think it applies to LL too.

Seller-fulfilled shipments are now exempt from VTR calculation only if stamps are purchased via Amazon Buy Shipping. This applies to shipments sent through untracked Royal Mail 1st and 2nd Class letter stamps and equivalents.

Stamps are currency, and the Post Office will buy them back (unused) at face value.

I’m sitting on a VTR of 6% lol! Have notified Amazon that I am unable to print a letter label as their system is set up wrong and it prints in landscape which still doesn’t work when I turn my printer round to landscape! Works perfectly fine with Royal Mail Click & Drop! They should really get their act together if they are implementing this stupid rule. Also a bit cheesed off as I have a lot of customers who purchase an item, pay for it and then buy another one, several orders that now have to be sent individually, and I can’t combine them. Stupid waste of resources!

Sorry you are wrong you can send L/L any way you like just mark them as stamps then they are excluded from VTR it is only Letters up to 100gm you have to but labels for from Amazon.
