Global Rating 3 star, why

Really concerned that a new product of mine has been given a 3 star “global rating” , but no one has reviewed it? Anyone know more about these ratings?
Can I get this removed?

Anyone can rate a product, without necessarily buying it on Amazon. The ratings are anonymous

In a word, No

I think it’s to encourage buyers to leave reviews. Amazon know that most people can’t be bothered so they now allow them to just leave a rating with no comment.

As for the ‘Global reviews’ I don’t think they’re a great idea.

I have one of my listing which Amazon duplicated onto other European sites although I don’t sell in those countries. The French listing has a Chinese seller who is selling a fake and inferior version of my product. Unfortunately a buyer has left a one star review (with images) which now appears on my UK listing.

In order to get this removed I would have to fight with Amazon.fr and there’s no guarantee it would be successful, it’s just too much hassle.

I can see why you would want it removed but on the plus side at least it’s not a 1-star rating.

Yes, I totally agree that this is a load of rubbish. I had one product that had sold and received a 5* customer service rating, but then received 1 star global rating without a comment. It had excellent on voice of the customer. I deleted it as I thought it was pointless having a product showing on Amazon with one rating being a one star!
Then, I noticed one of my good sellers that had received 8 x 5* product ratings had suddenly attracted a 1* global review without comment. I investigated my last 3 customers - 2 had left 5* customer service reviews and the 3rd had left a 5* product review. It had a ‘flurry’ for those 3 sales and then stopped. Prior to that it hadn’t sold for 6 months.
I too am on Handmade - so no-one who’s not bought from me can buy elsewhere. Neither of these products were FBA.
I wrote to SS and ended up getting it ‘answered’ even though it wasn’t and my follow up question had been deleted from the thread! So I wrote again and was told there is a ‘report feedback thread’ and you can reply to negative feedback. Clearly you can’t because without comments there is nothing to reply to!! I reported on the official report system and received the reply that they don’t tell you any outcome - nothing’s changed on my ratings, so I know the result of their ‘investigations’… filed into the recycle bin I expect.
I honestly don’t believe that it it is a verified purchase and it HAS contributed to my star rating as it has reduced this one to 4s overall. 8 5s and 1x1*.
It is absolutely ludicrous that someone who hasn’t bought a product and has never ever seen it in real life can leave any rating, let alone a 1* rating and to my mind it could quite easily be competitors trying to scupper your product.

Hi Ive had this on several of my products now and it is beginning to look like a compeditor. It is so annoying but there seems nothing we can do about it, its just basically tough. Still very unfair they should just have verified reviews only.

You might get a 5 star rating from someone on this forum as you dont have to actually buy the product, you never know!:grinning:

I also have ‘3 star’ without the comment, I only sold 2 of that item and checked both customer’s order, and they did not comment nor left the star.

I don’t think you can leave a rating without having bought the product. (Different than reviews).

On my buying account I only get taken to a page where I can leave ratings after leaving a review.

It still won’t stop competitors buying your products, returning them and leaving one star, anonymous ratings. Especially if you’re FBA.
