HACCP Certification for Food Supplements

Hi All,

Wondering if anyone who has had this problem could provide some insight.

We manufacture and sell some food supplement products and we have understandably been asked to provide our HACCP certificate / documentation. Our current, in date HACCP certificate keeps being rejected by Amazon, and after some research we realise this is because it is not from a GFSI approved provider. We have decided to now enrol on the BRCGS HACCP course, as this is on the CPO’s (Certification Programme Owners) list and is certificated to a GFSI-Recognised standard (info taken from the HACCP Mentor website link that Amazon provide upon rejection of our current HACCP certificate - https://haccpmentor.com/haccp-certification).

Can anyone confirm if they’ve had this problem with their HACCP certificate being rejected and if it was resolved by obtaining a HACCP certificate issued by one of the recognised Certification Programme Owners / a GFSI approved provider? In addition, does anyone know if the HACCP certificate will be accepted by Amazon if it shows only the business owners name who is taking the HACCP course, and not the business name itself? BRCGS do not state company names on their certificates.

We have tried contacting Amazon many times for clarification on this issue but we are never given a clear or relevant answer.

Thank you.

The way I read it is that a member of staff is going to get trained on HACCP and get a certificate. Hence, it will have their name on the certificate.

But this only confirms their competence on HACCP, it doesn’t confirm that the producing company has had their processes certified to HACCP.

It is the manufacturing company that needs to be certified. Part of the certification process requires that there is a competent member of staff or the company has access to a competent external person.
