Who is the Customer ??

We all sell on Amazon, my question is who is the customer???

We have only the address details where the order is going,, we receive monies from Amazon less fees for the sale of goods.

Where do we stand from a legal stance, it appears to me Amazon is my Customer.

I look forward to your comments.

Amazon is your supplier. They provide services which you pay for, such as collecting monies from the buyer and passing this on to you less their fees. They thus act as a payment provider. You are Amazon's customer in this regard.

The buyer is your customer as they are buying from you, not Amazon. If you run order reports (prior to marking as dispatched) you can see the billing address as well as the delivery address, so you can see who the buyer is and who the recipient is, if different.

I think this is one of the most confusing aspects of trading on Amazon.

Amazon have this attitude that the customer is mutual, but they decide how mutual it is. Break the rules and you can no longer play in their playground.

I personally have the feeling that Amazons policy may not be aligned with consumer law, but more business contractual law.
