Others will be better than myself in providing advice on how to proceed.
However, I will say that in my 10 years of selling on Amazon, I hadn't really encountered buyers claiming empty package or wrong items received.
However, I have now had it happen 3 times in 3 months.
I would hazard to say that more scam buyers are clocking on to Amazon having recently made A to Z claims unwinnable by sellers.

Frustrated as I'm sure you are this is a duplicate thread which is against forum rules so this maybe deleted.
If the buyer is adamant that the box was factory sealed then ask the customer for a written statement to that effect as you'll be taking legal action against the supplier and that they may be called as a witness. It'll be interesting to see if that brand of water is sold in the suppliers country of origin.

I would tell the customer that you are going to trace the batch ID of the water and see which branch of Abu Bakr it was distributed to.

If you can actually speak to a decent representative, (we opened a case regarding an item sent back with an important part missing), you can still win. We ticked the open chat response and after sending a photo of the item we were refunded immediatly, it wasn't an expensive item but we were pleasantly surprised. It doesn't happen every time though!

If Parcelforce was used (think it was mentioned), they x-ray all items going through the system. Request the weight and x-ray image and use that as evidence when speaking to Amazon.

My god, I don't want to be in your shoes. As someone suggest, ask them to hang on to the parcel, untouched and that you have reported to the local police and that they would be paying them a visit. This should hopefully scare them. But what you should not do is pass judgements about Eastern Europeans or anyone else for that matter. You would just lose credibility of your case. You may also risk sounding like someone who is not trustworthy. Stick to facts of the case when you respond to a-z.

I cannot believe they still try these "tricks" with private small business sellers. Please gather as much evidence as you can with weight difference, etc and fight it so that worst case scenario you both get refunded. Best case scenario customer gets a criminal record! i don't see how any employee would put bottles of water in a box when Amazon warehouses are so strict and the employee would have close to 0 chance to take the product to the staff rooms... Such a shame that more and more people (any nationality) "learn" how to play the system at our small business expense. They need to understand how much money we lose and how much stress this causes.

If you click on the papers in the box what is written does not look like the normal A-Z script
Just as a footnote my daughter had a birthday box sent from relatives overseas
What turned up in the sealed box was food colourants in sachets
We could only assume at the airport someone thought there was something worth stealing!

Which courier did you use, they hold a lot of information about your parcel. Some couriers weight products going through their network. It is possible but I doubt it that the courier is at fault. What about the weight, what was the weight of the item you sent. If it was much heavier then, the courier may well be able to confirm that it was much heavier. I would contact the courier and raise a complaint with them that the item much have been tampered with as you send it sealed and the buyer claims it has had the contents swapped out. The courier will investigate this and probably speak to the driver who will be able to confirm what was delivered. In that box items will have moved around.
For future reference I suggest you start video recording your shipped item being packed etc. I use a Logitech c920 cam and it works a treat.
Also record serial numbers etc on a spreadsheet. Amazon is full of scam buyers. Time to protect your business.
For info, I record any returns being returned too. it happens in returns to.
Hope my information is helpful.
