Brand Qualification Application

Hi guys,

I have recently started trying to add my new product, but for the name, I had to apply for brand Approval (Not Brand Registry),

in the application form(Selling application for Catalogue Authorisation), they asked me to send two images of products that my brand is visible. it is mentioned that

The branding ‘x’ must be stamped, stitched, printed, or stuck on the product and/or packaging so that it is not easy to remove

so I stuck my brand with adhesive label, and it got rejected. they told me because it should be permanently affixed.

but I was wondering if I'm not going to register my brand, so being permanently affixed is necessary even for brand qualification approval?

Also, in the form, it is not mentioned it should be permanently affixed, it just needs to be not easy to remove

It should be permanently affixed to the product otherwise anyone can print off a sticky label with a brand name on it and stick it to a generic item.

If you are not applying for Brand registry then your option would be to list it as generic if it is not branded. If it is already branded with a brand on you need to list under that brand

If it really your unique product that you want to be isted with your brand then you need to get the brand name permanently affixed. If this is the case you really need to register the trademark and apply for brand registry so your brand is protected.

Hello @Rinous_871,

You can review Example of an image that meets all requirements for brand name in our help pages.

Images of the product, packaging or both must meet the following criteria:

  • Branding is permanently affixed
  • Branding on the product, packaging or both is an exact match for the brand name used when creating the listing
  • Images do not need to be ASIN-level quality. The product, packaging or both can be held in hand or placed on a table.

Hope this helps :-)

@Direct_Gifts_Ltd, thank you for valuable information and great advice!

Bests,

Julia.
