Sole trader to limited company. What happens to the listings?

Hello dear sellers,

should I decide to change from sole trader to ltd company, would my products transfer be smooth? Would I lose my reviews and feedback and have to create new listings?

I found very contrasting information on the matter.

Thanks

Alessandro

Hello! @Seller_A5QUfTZ8Bt3hf

This is Roberto. While I can't advise you on what change works best for your business, I wanted to bring your attention to a thread where this was discussed, please review to get more insights:

TRANSFERRING FROM SOLE TRADER TO LIMITED COMPANY

In regard to your question about reviews and feedback. If the ASIN remains the same, that information won't disappear.

Regards.

Reviews are tied to each individual child ASIN, so changing from a sole trader to a limited company shouldn't impact reviews on your listings

Your seller feedback should also remain unaffected, as your seller account will still be the same account it will just be updated to reflect your change of entity

Are you the brand owner for your listings? (i.e the value under 'brand name' is your own brand - or does it say 'generic'?)

If you are the brand owner for your listings then you would remain in control of your listings and they should remain unaffected

Difficult to advise on whether it's best to move to a Ltd company - you really need to speak with someone about the reasons etc and decide what's best.

But as far as Amazon goes, it's simple to transfer your account. Your listings are unaffected as far as reviews, content etc goes as that's linked to the ASIN, not necessarily your account. Your listings should also stay in your Manage Inventory page, everything's just transferred over to the new owner of the account (ie the Ltd company).

The only potential hiccup would be if you do not have the required documents or there's an issue verifying your details. That would cause downtime and stop you selling.
