REACH -Good Old Amazon

well over the weekend (and this morning) I have had roughly 80 items removed from my account apparently for breaching REACH regulations. many of them best sellers which are the bread and butter of my business. basically without them I doubt if I will have a viable business on this platform.

Never had any notice of these ones that have been removed, I did have others that I sorted out and sent appropriate documentation for so this came out of nowhere and quite a shock.

not only that some of the items removed are glass pendants, hip flasks, pens, bookmarks and a few other odds and ends that as far as I am aware REACH does not apply to,

I do believe this is the beginning of the end for many of us. I am just losing the will to continually fight with amazon which is becoming a more frequent event for even less profit as margins get tighter by the day in the race to the bottom

Yup - we’ve had a load removed as well, and as you say - no noticable warning. Best bit is some are jewellery, which it appears they are focussing on - but some just happen to be metal ( a lot are jewellery making tools). Heck - just ban anything with metal in it amazon at this point.

It’s a complete massacre - half my inventory was pendants - now most are gone over the last 12 months. its happening to all my competitors as well. It’s over for jewellery on Amazon now - we don’t even get the Reach warnings anymore.

It must never have been a strong category for them, so etsy and ebay now get the lions share of sales.

Same here, mostly gold plated necklaces with pendants, but also a few gold coloured stainless steel necklaces. About 20 removed so far. Not sure I can be even be bothered to appeal to some faceless robot.

well the other problem I have just came across is that one of my suppliers doesn’t use descriptions its jsut catalogue numbers for their items. I had to make up descriptions myself for Amazon listing and put the catalogue number in the appropriate box in the listing. however they have now removed the detail page leaving me only the description and a ASIN so I cant access the page to get the suppliers catalogue number

I contacted seller support and they want EAN numbers but of course now I have no idea what items have been removed because I cant see the catalogue numbers or images from the description page so I have no idea how to link a EAN to a ASIN without being able to view the page

Well we got a lot of email warnings 2 months prior, and constant reminders about a need to upload reach docs (VIA EMAIL NOT ON SELLER CENTRAL). They selected only 27 items, docs uploaded, after few days all were accepted. No issues for us tbh this time… My emails looked like this, with subject: Action required: Important information about your product listings

Guys, rather than my listings are removed titles, explain why Amazon removed your listings and why you think they should not be removed? For me, there are thousands of links that should be removed and Amazon is not acting quick enough.

Yes, same here, loads removed, some we warned about the ones today we were not. So just under 800 removed for us , mainly bread and butter ones too and some suppliers wont sort as dont know about REACH or just wont do it. Its been very very stressful for us

I think you’re saying what a lot of other sellers are thinking. It’s become a daily torture selling on this rotten platform.
