New Prep rules and Frugalpac bottles

Hello Amazon and fellow sellers - does anyone have a clear guidance on bubble wrap requirements for BWS bottles made of cardboard? (Frugalpac?)

Ive had three conversations with different answers from amazon case workers - one saying I need bubble wrap, one saying I dont, and 1 just sending me the links to BWS glass bottle rules (very vague and no explanation for cardboard bottles)

Said bottles are shatterproof and passed our own internal 3 feet drop tests.

But finding definitive confirmation on the bubble wrapping requirements for the new Prep rules in the UK has been impossible so far! Surely someone else has the same question?

Hello @Seller_mSaxCweQoatFD,

Thank you for reaching out tp Forums Community We understand how it can be to receive conflicting guidance, and we want to help clarify.

Amazon's standard FBA prep guidelines for BWS products are primarily written with glass and ceramic containers in mind. For those materials, bubble wrap is required because they fall under the "Fragile" prep category. However, cardboard-based bottles like Frugalpac present a unique situation since they're shatterproof by design.

The overarching standard is that each unit must be "e-commerce ready" — meaning it can be safely and securely transported throughout the fulfilment cycle and safely received by the customer. Since your cardboard bottles are shatterproof and have passed drop tests, the bubble wrap requirement designed for fragile glass containers may not technically apply. Your bottles would still fall under BWS prep rules for cap sealing or bagging to prevent leakage — this is separate from the fragile/bubble wrap requirement.

Here's what we recommend:

- When creating your FBA shipment, check the "Prepare Products" step in the shipment creation workflow. The system will display any known prep requirements for your ASINs.

- Open a new case with Seller Support and specifically reference that your bottles are made from cardboard material (not glass), are shatterproof, and ask them to confirm the prep category for your specific ASINs.

In your case, mention that you've received conflicting guidance and request a definitive written answer you can reference going forward.
