Parent/Child Split/Re-join

Hello,
I have one product with 4 colour variations and they are all currently set up as child listings with the same parent ASIN. I am considering splitting into 4 separate listings to allow me to get more than one PPC result showing. Just wondering how easy is it to split them, and then how easy is it to re-join them if I decide it isn’t working? I’m aware I will also end up splitting the reviews if I split but happy to be made aware of anything else I haven’t though of!
Thanks,
Adam

Unless I’m mistaken in theory there’s no issue in splitting and re-creating parent/child relationships

However, I recently read a news article about how hundreds of 5* reviews for some items were for totally unrelated products - perhaps the sellers added others as (out of stock) children to build up their reviews for the target ASIN… So I would imagine Amazon would rightly stop this sort of thing soon

Splitting and re-joining is easy enough using the file importer - I’ve just gone through it with a product.

One thing to note on re-joining them, the old way all the variation reviews were added together, shown on all pages and at the top of the listing.
On re-joining, they’re split between variations (they clearly cottoned on to what nrfd mentioned). Where the parent may have shown 20 5-star’s before, it’ll now show 2 while one variation’s selected, 5 on another variation etc.

I do recall quite some time ago when I had to delete/relist I had an issue with all child asin reviews not showing up in the total

I asked SS about this and they got the listings refreshed so the total review count = sum of child asin reviews

Thanks @nrfd and @UK_Custom_Goods for the input. I know this isn’t what this thread was originally about but I’m having issues with review sharing across my EFN listings so I will try your suggestions to see if I can get them to share. I have all my reviews on my UK listing but none show on my EFN listings. In fact, someone actually just left a review on my German listing so that now shows 1 review in Germany but the German review doesn’t even show on my UK listing. Seller Support told me from their end it looks like ‘it should be working’ and they have ‘refreshed it from their end’, but after 72 hours nothing changed. They told me to delete and relist but that didnt seem to work. I will try changing the category but the browse nodes aren’t the same between UK/FR/ES/DE/IT anyway. Not sure what else to do!
