fake verification emails
by Seller_7Gzk2DXnerEBv

Please be careful; fake emails asking for your account details are circulating. If you have no red banner on your account, it's a fake

Fake 1 star review
by Seller_oZ0ygI16y5S4J
Amazon replied

Dear Support team

I've reported a fake review under my product several times but I see no case ID being created. I have then submitted a complaint via the violations tool on the health dashboard, Complaint ID: 12278510242 but the health team is unable to follow up. The review is fake as it starts with the comment "purchased elsewhere" - but I do not sell elsewhere. Could you please investigate this ?

This review is harming my business.

Best,

Rick

Fake reviews - the online plague
by Seller_ukxowJMQl15lj
Amazon replied

Amazon, please put your house in order!

Fake reviews by competitors are a real bottom of seller's morale. The 'verified purchase' is a joke - anyone can sacrifice a few pounds to buy a product and put a brand-damaging 'review' with no consequences.

For example, I can easily buy tea and then complain about my 'verified purchase' with a one-star review that it is not good coffee. It is just ridiculous and I am not seeing any proactive involvement from Amazon to tackle this issue or even act on reports!

Proposed long-term solution:

Reviews of 3 stars or less should be allowed ONLY AFTER evidence of prior communication between the buyer and the seller. Nothing else will effectively stop this real problem. And reviews must also allow a response from the seller.

Fake reviews - competitor sabotage
by Seller_6zYWw4XoqdEPS
Amazon replied

Hello,

I am writing to request the opportunity to speak directly with a moderator regarding a case of fake and malicious reviews.

Two of our products have recently received two verified-purchase reviews that were left in bad faith by the owner of a competing business selling similar products. The reviews are excessively harsh, factually incorrect, and are intended solely to damage our product’s reputation rather than provide genuine feedback.

We have substantial evidence directly linking the reviews to this competitor, including:

An invoice in the competitor’s real name confirming the purchase - he is the only individual who has purchased both products together, making him the only person able to leave two verified-purchase reviews on both listings, and the reviews are exactly the same

Proof that the reviewer is the owner of a rival business selling books on the same subjects

Evidence showing the reviews were posted the same day the books were delivered, making it impossible for the content to have been read properly

Unfortunately, the automated reporting forms do not allow attachments or detailed evidence, which makes it impossible to properly explain the situation through standard channels.

I would greatly appreciate the chance to share this documentation with a moderator so the case can be reviewed fairly and in line with platform policies regarding review abuse and competitor sabotage.

Had a good few years on amazon but sales have now completely collapsed. Nothing changed and simply dont know why the sudden loss in sales. So we are closing the shop and solely replying on our own website. Has anyone else closed their amazon store and gone solo with their own website? We are sick of the continuous jumping through hoops, customers fraudulently making claims, bad service by royal mail, and the DD+7 payment disbursements. Its simply not worth selling on here. Cost of advertising is through the roof as are the fees. Anyone else gone through similar?

Hi,

For one of the listing (brand approved, not brand registry) there is a new Chinese seller located in China that is selling a different product from the authentic item (brand approved). Recently, we received a bad product review showing the different product (fake) from a customer. This customer did not purchase from us, so it must have come from the other seller.

Also, I have done a test buy from this Chinese seller. Unsurprisingly, I got the same product (fake) as the customer who left the bad review.

Of course, the fake product looks differently, no brand displayed on the packaging/product, made of different material).

I have raised a case with the Seller support (ID CASE 12254900452) to remove the review and Chinese seller from the listing. Supporting documents/evidence have been provided as well - they advised to use Report abuse.

So, I have done Report abuse (Complaint ID: 12255298702) and basically got a response "We cannot take action on your report". Frankly, a quite bizarre response.

Can any Amazon mods look at that and help?

If I filled in Report abuse incorrectly, please let me know and advise step by step (in great detail) how to fill it correctly. This would be greatly appreciated.

Good luck with this!! My account was deactivated in December, I submitted all required documentation!! Multiple times, I appealed many times, I was told the invoices I was producing were "fake", when they were not. I submitted invoices, bank statement, proof of postage, copies of retailer accounts showing products brought, but they would not accept the product was not fake. I stacked my shop up, just before Xmas in time for the Xmas shopping. It is still not resolved!! I am now trying to get all my products back to close the shop down, but it's proving very difficult. It is absolutely disgraceful. I set my shop up because I have cancer and couldn't work at my usual employment, but this honestly has caused me so much stress, I wish I had not bothered. Good luck !!

Fake Negative Product Review
by Seller_PeeDMJfuWibh8
Amazon replied

A competitor/buyer has left a non-compliant negative product review that directly violates Amazon's Community Guidelines and FBA policy. The reviewer [Moderator Edit: Removed Personal Information] states: "they refuse to refund or allow returns". This is a 100% FBA order. All returns, customer service, and refunds are managed entirely by Amazon logistics, not the seller. According to policy, product reviews must only evaluate the product itself, not customer service or fulfillment issues. Kindly remove this non-compliant review.

ACCUSATIONS OF FAKE ITEM
by Seller_HIWyXJCAuQ6DA
Amazon replied

Hi all, hoping for some help from the learned folk here.

I had a product that I sold hundreds of units of this year. I've sold it for a few years maybe, and had many sales. Abour 5-6 weeks ago, I had an accusation made that I was selling a fake. There is not a chance this is true, as whilst there are fakes out there, on this item, I check and test every item that comes through my hands before listing (pre-owned)

One accusation has blocked me on this item even though I know it to be false. In fact, the buyer in their return claimed the item weighed different to the manufacturer weight value...I checked when it was returned...it was the same as manufacturer value and same as other stock of the same item. So the whole allegation was false.

I provided all my invoices to Amazon and they said they could not verify the invoices and blocked that item.

I truly firmly believe I have never sold a fake of this item, and I truly believe a rival seller has made a purchase and made the accusatiob. I have reason to believe this as the same thing happened last year: one single accusation let to my sales being blocked on the same item, and then randomly a few weeks later, the item was unblocked without ANY input. I firmly believe as it's a popular item, that a rival seller has got me banned.

I raised a case, case ID: 11581801942 and as usual, nothing was done.

How do I protest my innocence. I've been on Amazon for years, and this item is the only item I've ever had an accusation against, despite the fact that most of my items I would say are pre-owned.

Many thanks in advance
