Amazon Frustration-Free Packaging

For Frustration-Free Packaging (FFP) certification, the packaging must be made of 100% kerbside recyclable materials per applicable laws in the region of sale. Frustration-free Packaging must be easy to open and all content removable by the customer within 120 seconds with minimal use of scissors or box cutter. Frustration-free Packaging must not contain blister packs, plastic inserts, packaging peanuts, shredded paper or welded clam shells. A package certified for Frustration-free Packaging is automatically considered Ships in Product Packaging (formerly known as Ships in Own Container or SIOC) certified.

In 2024, the Ships in Product Packaging programme will be available to opt into for all sellers who use Fulfilment by Amazon. This programme allows Amazon to work with sellers to help redesign their packaging to enable their products to ship in their own branded product packaging without any Amazon-added delivery packaging. Once the Ships in Product Packaging programme is launched for all sellers who use FBA, the dashboard in the Sustainability Solutions Hub will include Ships in Product Packaging information, sharing data such as estimated package weight avoided for certified products and the packaging weight avoidance opportunity for products not yet certified.
