Adding a new product for FBA

I am new to this although I have been paying fees for a couple of month and have had nothing but grief in return.

I am trying to add a new product then get it shipped to an Amazon warehouse asap for fba.

I can’t list the product in the catalogue , even though I have an EAN number for it now.

Amazon want images which is impossible for a product being manufactured Monday ready for immediate shipment.

I’m really in trouble with this. I never expected it would be so difficult. Also, NO,ONE wants to help on the phone. Just awful email support.

Rant over - but problems everywhere.

Ian

When you say you obtained an EAN number, was this from GS1? If it wasn’t you are likely to run into trouble either listing it or in the future. Why do you not want the barcode on the packaging?

Even if Amazon would let you ship it in to FBA without any photos (how will your customer know what it looks like??) you would be taking a huge risk, what if you don’t get approval for the category? Don’t you want to quality control it yourself? Have you seen the packaging?

Hi I think you need to get back to a little more research first.

If you do not have the product you should not be trying to ship it in you need to check its correct and packing has the appropriate markings such as © if required and address etc. And the EAN printed on the packing they need to review to ensure authenticity.

Has your account been fully verified? You won’t be able to list products until it has. Also, you should not attempt to list products until you actually have them in stock

You won’t get phone support at present. Amazon staff are too busy to deal with phone calls, because of the huge number of new sellers who immediately run into problems because they haven’t properly researched how Amazon works

I’d make sure you have fully gone through Seller University beforehand but there are a lot of delays in every department we have been involved in.

Part of the issue is that the Customer Support Team are reliant on other internal teams which you will not be able to have direct ontact with,

As has been mentioned Amazon won’t let a new product be listed until they are assured it complies with relevant legislation and is safe. There isn’t a way of getting around having to provide photos as they want to see in particular that it complies with EU labeling rules.

If you don’t have a test purchase on hand I guess the alternative is to ask your manufacturer for photos.

Well people, all I can say to that is that Amazon, promote FBA as simple to use. It’s not as evidenced from three different pieces of (good) advice here. Off course you read up about it in advance but it’s not until you try to do something that you are confronted with lots of problems.

I have tried to verify my details as best as I can, but that’s a case in point. I live on a narrow boat so all the documents asked for are not relevant to my situation. But Amazon say verification is only needed if they are to return 15000 eur to me. So, not sure that piece of advise is correct.

I’m having a new product made, ready to ship Monday. I obtained an EAN number, but that will not appear on the packaging. Amazon won’t allow me to load it onto the system without a load of photos which I can’t get until it’s ready.

Have not seen anything anywhere warning me about this. Is this why you need to go to University?!

Hi

Approval? No, I have been following the email instructions given to me my an Amazon account manager.

What does this involve? What do I need to supply and when does it appear in the process.

I have asked for a step by step process from Amazon earlier, because I suspect what they have told me to do is general and incomplete. This is an example of how they are letting people down by not talking to anyone.

Hi @Go-viral_skincare probably going to burst your bubble so I appolagise in advance but I have just been reading through your posts I really do think you may hit a brick wall.
One of our main ranges is in the Health & Beauty range but it is not cosmetics.

Skincare - your going to need catagory approval

No EAN labels printed on packing probably able to get around that I don’t no for sure

It sounds like you have not researched to good though so I am going to hazard a guess in saying your business address is not printed on the product which means a none starter basically.

The ingredients also need to be listed on the units or packing.

Depending on which country your planning on selling on different compliance requirements I imagine with it been Skincare you have had it manufacturerd in US but there requirements are different to ours so has it been tested to the UK standard if not you can’t sell it.
