Are cancellation requests monitored?
A buyer purchased an item from me 2 hours ago.
5 mins ago I received a cancellation request and the reason they have stated is
‘Not received on time / not dispatched on time’
It is not due to be dispatched until tomorrow and delivery is ‘by 17th May’.
Obviously I have messaged them to see if they have mistakenly messaged the wrong seller but I was just wondering if this cancellation request, or the reason for it, will be held against me in any way as it is blatantly untrue!

to the best of my knowledge cancellations where the buyer sends a message request with the Cancellation message in the Subject line never have any effect on your metrics.
All other cancellations do cause a neg to your metrics.

I’ve never had a cancellation that a customer has requested affect my metrics. I’m sure they must check to make sure the customer has requested it when you put in the cancellation by checking messages. Otherwise everyone would use the customer request option.

I didn’t want a black mark against me for late dispatch / delivery when he only ordered it 2 hours ago!
Of course having now messaged him to check his intentions I am now in a strange limbo where I don’t know whether he has received my message and / or whether he still wants to cancel.

So I cancelled the order and an hour later they re-ordered. Still no reply to my message asking if they had sent the cancellation to the correct seller, or to my message explaining that I would cancel as requested as I had not heard back from them. Would it kill them to reply? Even if they had not received my messages I would have thought that they would have messaged to find out why I cancelled,…LOL
