Change of legal entity gone south

Hello, this is my first post on the forum and I need a bit of help.

On the 7th of February I contacted Amazon to learn what path to take to change the legal entity in the account from company A to company B not yet created. Since I did not want to risk account suspension and wanted to do everything by the book. They advised me to contact them and fill out a specific set of details once the company was created.

On February 11th I sent all the information requested and then after waiting some weeks and reaching out again I was prompted to input verification data into seller central. Now it has been almost two months and I still have not heard anything back.

The only thing I can see is this, which has been there since I filled in the required details in seller central.

The old company wants to make this change as soon as possible and I am stuck in the middle of it all.

I see that there is a “Transfer account” button in my seller central account that didn’t exist before but I can’t click it since I am already in the verification process. I worry that the process might have changed and I am now stuck in the old one with no way to complete it.

Is there anyone I can talk to about this? From what I’ve read on the forums it should not take this long and I am worried about our account getting suspended or being stuck in limbo forever.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

"Dear Seller,

Thank you for contacting us.

We are currently reviewing the change of the business registered on your account. We will contact you as soon as we complete this review or if we need any further information.

We cannot give you an exact deadline, but our team is working hard to complete verification as soon as possible.

Sincerely,

The Amazon Payments Team"

This is the same answer I got back when I sent back in February.

Frustratingly I’m in the same position as you, although I used the account transfer tool. It’s been 6 weeks and I’ve still got the same message on my dashboard ‘…Your account is being verified.’ All contact with Amazon just results in the same automated response. Let’s just keep our fingers crossed, I’m not expecting a response for at least another 5-6 weeks :expressionless:

But if you hear anything in the meantime do update the thread.

So… After the disbursement yesterday, this morning I was able to finally click the button and it was a breeze, it took less than 5 minutes! I have now entered all the information of the new business, VAT got approved, bank details got approved and I am now waiting to get the identity information verified. I hope there are no issues there.

Currently my listings are not available anywhere apart from the UK but hopefully that will sort itself out once the account is verified.

Thank you so much @Anglozone for the help!

I got an email saying I’m verified!
Only problem is that I still see this yellow notification in seller central and my listings are not active in the rest of Europe…

Is there anything else I’ve missed and should do?

Hi,

I am looking to do a legal entity change from company A to company B. There is now a ‘Transfer Account’ option in Seller Central with some new details I hadn’t seen before. Has anyone tried a legal entity change using this process?

My main concern is a suspension of our account and listings until the new company information is verified.

Were you able to continue selling during the verification? @PMA

I wrote a brief email to them yesterday saying “I was considering a legal entity change.”

They replied with this email:

You have confirmed you are in the process of changing your businesses legal entity, therefore, we need more information from you before we can complete your account verification. Please reply directly to this e-mail to confirm the information listed below

_- Confirm the reason for your change of legal entity. _ How brief can this be … is just ‘change of ownership’ sufficient?
_- Who will be the beneficial owner of the new business. _ Is this who owns 25% or more of the new business. Do I just write the name of the person?
- Who will benefit from the profits of your sales on Amazon. Do I write name of shareholders?
_- Will the current business continue to exist. _ The current legal entity will continue to exist but stop retailing to customers. Will this be ok?
_- The Date of the LE change _ There is no fixed date but it is dependant on Amazon confirming that I can change the LE. Do they need a date now or shall I just write as soon as possible?
- The name of the new business The name of the new Ltd company?
- The country in which the new business will be registered. This is easy

Any guidance on what to respond with will be really appreciated. Thanks in advance peeps.
