Counterfeit Without a Test Buy
I just received an IP complaint with the reason being “Counterfeit without test buy”. I purchased the goods from Argos and Alza, two very large retailers and the goods are not counterfeit. On amazon it said I was eligible to sell the goods, however the brand filed the complaint to Amazon and now my listing has been deactivated and I am at risk of losing my account apparently.
Please can someone shed some light as to what I have done wrong, because if I haven’t made a mistake I don’t know how to go about fighting this AND if I have made a rookie error I don’t want to make this mistake again or lose my account!!

Did you try to sell as new as you can’t if bought from retailers?
It will be shown as counterfeit because you’ve not bought them from a proper supplier or got permission from the brand

Buying from stores/retailers such as Argos etc, you should not list them as ‘new’, even though they are unopened, as you have not purchased from the manufacturer or a wholesaler.

And just to confirm since these sorts of videos are economical with the truth, you are registered as a business on amazon and submitted your UTR or Ltd company documents when you signed up?
I don’t think you can remove counterfeit units but you really need to remove everything else that doesn’t have invoices

Charging ridiculous amounts of money for things you can do yourself…
£225 for a 60 minute call, wow

And I think if only one warning it gives chance to get things fixed before anything more major happens

Our Annual turnover on Amazon last year was well over 10 million , I can tell you right now, there’s not a chance in the world buying stuff from Argos is going to get you here.
I spend far too much time running my business, my free time is spent with my family, not telling people how to put me out of business in YouTube videos for likes and subscribes.
I have made a lot of mistakes to get here, anyone on this forum who tells you they haven’t made a mistake on Amazon is lying. The rules here are very clear… until they are not. I lost around £30,000 in sales over the past 7 days for a reason that is yet to be explained, there are a lot of others in here that were hit by this system error too, but you learn to roll with it, you just have to be vigilant enough to be able to water down the bad with the good and it is a fantastic outlet to earn a lot of money, if you are willing to put the time and effort in, without looking for shortcuts.
There are no get rich quick schemes here, but the potential is completely unmatched.
Good luck

I started out in OA many years ago and I am very familiar with fake guru types and I know the one you mentioned. Many of these ‘gurus’ are not experienced sellers and they have had a bit of short-term success with revenue but they never mention their net profit. They use their amazon sales as proof of authority to attract people to the service they are offering. Most ‘gurus’ pivot to selling shovels once they realise online selling is very hard and competitive.
The danger with OA is the pitfalls others have already mentioned regarding proof of authenticity. To be honest I have successfully addressed a few complaints with retail invoices and know others that have too. It comes down to your risk appetite and my appetite shrank so I quit OA. As you scale you need more listings and that in turn increases your chances of receiving infringements. Not to mention OA is very hard to scale.

Oh boy, another YouTube seller, I feel sorry for you, you got scammed.
Out of curiosity, how much did you pay your YouTube friend for this “sound” get rich quick advice?
