Domestic Shipping Template Advice Please!

I uploaded a picture above not sure it has worked.

I have just started selling books on Amazon just mine and some friends so not looking to become anything but a small player. Very enjoyable and I have got around a 100 books listed and sold about 1 a day for the last 7 days I have been doing this. I upgraded to a pro account a few days ago.

Anyhow I just sold a book at a loss because the £2.80 shipping had gone to free. So I was forced to edit the Domestic Shipping Template which worked well and all my books updated with a shipping charge of £2.95 (which is the most common cost of me sending a book so far).

If you can see my picture of Domestic Shipping Template I would be grateful of advice on if it would be better to exclude some of these areas or if not what would be a normal book type rate be to ship to these other areas?

If I can be bothered would it make more selling sense to set my shipping to free for Scotland(Dumfries etc…) England & Wales and then just add £3 to all my prices?

It costs the same to send books up to 2kg in weight to the whole of UK, (unless they are thin, light ones that are LL size), so no need to exclude any areas.

I remember someone else reporting that happening when they upgraded to the Pro. selling plan (as you mentioned you have done, in your previous thread).
As to your last question - it really is up to you.
Personally I have just stuck with Amazon’s default for £2.80 shipping charge for all books - keeps it simple, as did not want to go through my whole inventory assigning different templates for all the different weights of books !

I ship for ‘free’ and add £4.00 to the book price, more if its value warrants it being sent tracked/signed for or over 2kg and less if it will go Large Letter.
