German VAT filing notice
I registered for VAT in Germany through the Amazon service, and received the VAT registration valid from 6 June 2020.
I now receive a notice from the German authorities that
“the following tax return (s) have not yet been received here:
Type of to be submitted: Value added tax
Period: May 2020
Due : 6/10/2020”
It looks like I am being asked to file a return for the month before registration. It is not clear if the Amazon service will handle this. There is no contact information for the Amazon VAT service…
Any one had to deal with anything like this?

I have the same problem. I received my VAT number mid-October and have now been asked to fill out a VAT return for September. How did you resolve this? How did you submit the VAT return? Would be grateful for any help you can give.
