New seller, how complicated!
Hi all, signed up to be able to sell on amazon, only the basic pay as you sell deal as I aim to not sell more than 10-15 products a month. When trying to list an item I put the UPC number in etc and then every time I go to enter a SKU (it tells me this can be anything of my choosing) it comes up with the message ‘the value specified is invalid’.
I’ve literally lost the will to live with this tonight so any help would be greatly appreciated, this seems like a very difficult platform to sell on.

Might you have an odd space there in the text field? Maybe try a ‘select all’ and delete? Can’t think of what else it could be.

To be honest it has become so over the past few years - many more rules, policies, potential pitfalls and hoops to jump through.
Is it the UPC or the SKU is isn’t accepting ?

Right, so I think it’s the upc causing the issue, how do I go about adding them if amazon doesn’t recognise?

Are you allowed to sell in the toys category? have you filled in the whole page, brand name, manufacturer to exactly match the product you’re listing?

Well I’ve been on amazon for 10 years and it’s still a nuisance when it comes to uploading new products, I find it’s easy to create an upload file than actually uploading a single item, but I wouldn’t personally use amazon for selling used items, your best bet is to use EBAY or musicmagpie

Display of mobile phone is showing the error message but its not showing up which field this error belongs to. If your computer is slow to response, you can at least check which field is showing up an error.

try the Amazon app and scan the barcode, this will tell you if you can sell it or if it is a restricted catergory. 10 - 15 sales a month I think you will be ok but be prepared for the Amazon rollercoaster, once your selling you have to go with it and their way of running the ship.
