Refunds - Prepaid or Not?

So, something I have noticed a few times recently.

It seems that sometimes (Not always) customers returning items are receiving an unpaid returns label rather than a prepaid label. Now I realise that bulky/heavy items can be excluded from the prepaid process by the seller requesting an exemption however I am talking about very small items.

I have experienced this both as a seller and yesterday as a buyer where the item I received did not match the description on the listing (No real surprise as we know). When I clicked to return the item and chose the reason ‘Description on the website was not accurate’ which is supposed to be seller responsibility for return, I was provided with an unpaid mailing label. Fr info it’s a UK supplier returning to a UK address.

Anyone else experienced this or have any explanation why this may sometimes happen?

Yes. These are the options we normally get as a buyer (I have simulated Description not accurate, like yours) for this post. However, for some items, even defective, the only options we get are paid Royal Mail drop off, paid Royal Mail collection and paid EVRI collection. The only freebie is EVRI drop off. I wonder therefore if certain categories of items are treated differently to others?

Did the listing have any form of customisation option on it that you had to choose ?
