Reserve and the £15000 disbursement limit
Hello. I am having a problem with payments. I started selling on amazon in august this year with a professional account. Amazon have put a reserve on my account which seems to keep going up and they havent released any payments yet. i have about £120 sat with them at the moment. i have contacted them to ask what is going on. They have said that there is a £15k disbursement limit on my account. Does anyone know anything about this? i provided all ID documents when i set up the account and everything was approved. Will i not be paid out until i have reached £15k?
thanks all

Usually there is a rolling reserve on your account based on sale date and delivery date
ie
sell an item on 1st October with an estimated delivery date of 7th - 8th October - payment is released on 15th October - 7 days after the LAST estimated delivery date
you can speed this up by purchasing your postage directly from amazon as they will then release the money 7 days after the actual delivery date (if earlier than the EDD)
Have you gone to settings - account info - bank account and checked that your bank account is verified and also check
settings - account info - account status
it maybe that you account hasn’t yet been fully verified hence you can make sales but not receive payment (presumably you registered as a business account)
when you signed up did you get an email saying ‘your selling on amazon payments account’ was complete ?

You can pretty much ignore what Support said in this instance. Most accounts have a reserve applied to them and you can’t get rid of it. You can sometimes speed payments up by making sure you use an integrated carrier so Amazon can work off of the actual delivery date rather than the latest estimated delivery date.
The 15k limit Amazon are referencing is essentially an additional verification that is required once you get towards that amount of sales and doesn’t really have an impact until you get there - they may delay further payments until they complete that extra verification.
So support are basically conflating two different things that can impact payments. I’d suggest just making sure that your bank details are correct and verified, even if you’ve only just added them.

Hi thanks both. My bank details amd verification docs are definitely correct and no issue showing on my account. Can Amazon keep upping my reserve in line with what they owe me? It just keeps going up and up? Something can’t be right?

Also just to note a previous post of yours mentioned advertising at £10 a day so are your sales covering your fees ?

I’ve just been on my account _ business identity information and it doesn’t seem to have been verified so I have submitted it - is it likely to be this?

My balance is still £120 after deductions

Now I’m really confused. So everybody has to do this?

Ok I’ll register as a sole trader thanks for the advice. Is this likely to be causing the issue?

Good job I found out about this whilst I’ve not actually had any money in I suppose. Is this likely to be causing the problem with the reserve?
