Same EAN as another product

Hi I’m trying to post an item but someone else is selling the item as a set of two and so when I try to enter the details I can’t because it is the same EAN number. I only want to sell one of the same item at a time how can I do this?

It would be helpful if you posted the ASIN as without it, giving suggestions can be difficult.

According to the Amazon policy, multipacks should be created by the manufacturer rather than just listed as an offer of multiple pieces using the product identifier of a single item.

But just like PeterB stated, review the linked thread where the moderator Jessica provided some advice on the matter.

Another option, if the manufacturer states the EAN on their website will allow you to request amazon to change the page to the correct number of items (seller support, request change)

We get this every so often, usually it is US catalog conflicting with Europe.

Note here: Every Item will have an EAN for an individual product, if the item is then sold as a multi pack the multi pack will be classified as an item in its own right and will have an EAN for said multi pack. This normally set at the manufacturer/supplier level for a brand.

It would be incorrect to start selling an item as a single under to an EAN for a multi pack.

If a previous seller has listed a product as a multi pack under an EAN for a single unit, that seller has made an error.

To change a listing eroor you will need evidence for the catalog team to act on, Photographic evidence of the EAN on a swing tag or washing label on the product, website proof from an authorised site, invoices with EAN showing it was a single item or similar proof.

Always be concise with requests to catalog team and do each item individually not as a parent plus children. One request for each variation change.

Always make sure you have added the ASIN you want to change individually into your inventory first with 0 stock and as it is on the catalog (sell mine work well via add product). This actually helps a catalog team apply updates.

Once the item is changed, then use an update flat file with a parent and child variations (even if there is only one child).

As someone said earlier it would be nice to which ASIN it is your trying/want to change to offer best advise.

Good Luck
