Selling in Europe Support

We are a seller based in the UK, and are currently signed up to VAT services all of the European marketplaces that we sell in (France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic). We are registered with Avalara and this is costing us a lot of money every month. As I understand, we are currently using Pan-European Inventory which means we store stock in all of the euro countries, which means we need to pay VAT in those countries. If we were to only store our stock in France (using Pan-European Inventory) does that mean we could deregister from Spain, Italy, Germany, Poland & Czech and keep paying VAT only in France?

Also we noticed our fees have shot up when selling in the EU, has anyone else experienced this? We are in the process of working out what is best for us when selling in EU (EFN / Pan EU / or just stop selling in EU altogether).

Any advice would be appreciated!

You can do that but you’d need to remove all your stock from those countries first and some countries have a minimum term for vat registration so you’d need to speak with your accountant
Check your avalara agreement too

In addition to the above, the less EU countries in which you store stock, the more sales will fall under EFN rather than Pan-EU.

Thanks. As UK isn’t part of Pan-EU programme anymore, are there any actual benefits for us in terms of fees, being enrolled?

For example if we were to enrol to every country and pay VAT in every country, would we still get the benefit of reduced fees, or will we still be charged more as Amazon needs to use EFN to send our stock anyway?
