Selling olive oil, new seller needs help!
Hello everyone,
I am planning to sell olive oil on Amazon. I am thinking about starting on amazon.co.uk and amazon.de.
I am having trouble to find out the process of selling olive oil. Is it considered like food? Do I need to do any special process? Is there any direct email to amazon seller help that I can send to?
Thank you very much everyone and wish you a happy new year

hi, do you mean you are looking to sell via FBA or you will be fulfilling orders yourself?

Thank you so much everyone for helping me. I am so new to this so I really need to learn a lot to start.
I am located in Denmark, I am thinking about starting on Amazon uk and Germany with FBA.
Olive oil is a very heavy product, and I will import from USA so I know it will increase the cost a lot. The reason I take from USA because there are some brands of olive oil which are actually recommended for medical treatment and I will only sell those.
Do I need to pack each bottle in each box, or just need 4 wraps of bubblewrap?
Thank you so much everyone for sharing your knowlegde with me.
Have a nice day

I have not sold olive oil but other oils such as grapeseed oil Fba and 100% you will need to provide SDS sheets for these products with matching brand on the sheets as on the paperwork (trust me if they dont match amazon will demand you remove & destroy your stock at your cost so get it right) as olive oil can be a health & personal oil (non edible) and grocery you need to decide the categories but both are gated and need permission so you need to apply first.
Also re packaging… from my experience amazon just put your products in a box and yes I got complaints of leaks… I had some returned to me that didnt sell and my goodness I’m not surprised they were sending my oils in “book cardboard envelopes” so contrary to amazon saying they parcel the items etc i wrapped each bottle in extra bubble wrap and poly bag.
eventually pulled out of FBA as they changed the hazmat rules and destroyed 1/3 of my stock wanting new paperwork I couldnt provide but since then Im FBM no leaks or refunds so bare that in mind when you send in your units, wrap each one as if amazon dont care about your stock, it’s not treated with any care and btw if you have a shelf life take this into consideration too as amazon dont send out the oldest first

For transportation and Amazon regulations for liquids you will need to have a double cap seal to prevent leaks.
The screw cap is the first seal and you will need an induction seal for the second seal.
The induction seal is welded to the rim of the container using induction energy and provides a hermetic and leak proof seal. The same type of seal as on a plastic sauce bottle.
As it is a hermetic seal the product arrives with your customer as fresh as it left the factory.
For more information https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMjFsBtoQPk or google Enercon Induction cap sealing.
Your cap supplier should be able to help with the correct induction seal barrier layer to suit your container contents and the material your container is made from to ensure correct bonding.
Best regards, Chris.
