Storm Eunice Red Warning
Hello all,
We’re based in Bodmin, Cornwall and tomorrow there’s a red wind warning.
The whole team live about 12 miles up the (heavily wooded) road and unsurprisingly I’m not happy asking them to take the risk of driving.
We may be able to get in to do orders later on but does anyone have any experience on Amazon’s take on delays due to weather as I expect RM will struggle even if we can despatch?

you could change your handling time on the listings and add 2/3 days on… im not sure if they take the weather into consideration.

Changing handling times is a good idea. Done.
I’d forgotten you could do that because we have that thing set up on our shipping where they base the time on service.
You can only choose 1 or 2 days, but 2 days will do it, assuming everything has worked itself out by Monday and we still have a roof!

Its a difficult one as other sites often take account of severe weather and make reasonable adjustments. However Amazon won’t make that allowance and will expect you to despatch.
RM may well be compromised tomorrow especially if there are large number of fallen trees and the rail network is severely impacted.
Extending handling times seems sensible to me.

We’re in the same boat. The storm seems to clear by midday so depending when you drop/off or have your Royal Mail collection you may be ok. We’re manifesting after Midnight and getting all of today’s orders ready to go just in case we have a power cut in the morning… Our main goal is getting anything left over from today ready and an manifested and then we’ll see what the situation is like tomorrow. Worse case would be tomorrow’s orders are bagged up and we have to drop them off with Royal Mail later in the day or Saturday morning.

I have already turned off FBM orders and on other platforms added 20 day delivery. If power lines go down it could take days \ week before power is back up.
If I wake up in morning and it’s not too bad I can always switch everything back to normal.
Fingers crossed…

Royal Mail have just contacted me to say they are not doing any collections in our area (Norfolk)No doubt our kind loving overlords at Amazon will take this in account

Hi all,
Our local sorting office is closed but we’ve already made sales which need to be dispatched today. I am trying to get through to someone who can give me an answer at Amazon but they don’t know what’s going on either.
Worried they’ll penalise our account.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

Royal Mail have suspended services in red alert areas, and some merseyside areas so I imagine amazon will have to take this into account as its such a large area of the UK? I imagine they don’t have enough time to call everyone, but they’ve got an update on their service update pages about it.
