Update to FBA inventory reimbursement policy
“Hello,
We are updating the FBA inventory reimbursement policy for fulfilment centre operations claims.
Effective December 5, 2022, eligible fulfilment centre operations claims for items in unsellable condition will be reimbursed at a discounted rate to reflect the actual fair value of the item”
Received this email overnight, couldn’t see a thread about it on the search or front pages. Do people feel this will make a significant difference to the reimbursements?
I could see this being a problem for clothing.

I was going to say that it could be read a hundred different ways, but then found this was discussed on the US forum a week ago. A mod posted:
- If we elect to reimburse you for a fulfillment center operations claim or a removal claim, we will reimburse you for the estimated proceeds of the sale of that item, unless the item was in an unsellable condition when lost or damaged or when removed from the Amazon fulfillment network. [Note: “Estimated proceeds” means the estimated sale price of the item for which you are being reimbursed minus referral fees and fulfillment fees.]
- For unsellable items, Amazon will reimburse you at a valuation consistent with the estimated proceeds of the discounted sale of the unit. We may ask you for additional information or documentation to help us determine that discounted value.
