Where has Royal Mail second class gone!

This morning I find that selecting ‘Buy Shipping’ the Royal Mail second class small parcel at £2.85 option is no longer available. It’s RM 1st class or Evri! Why is this?

Has someting changed?

I haven’t looked, but could it be due to the bank holiday and estimated delivery dates?

Yes, I suppose that makes sense. They are trying to tell me how to do my job AGAIN!

Thanks for your help.

I am still being offered second class by Buy Shipping so it is not down to the bank holiday.

Have a look when Amazon expect your items to arrive as it should be after the bank holiday now and posting today the item should arrive by Monday next week.

Have a look if your shipping settings are automated, or if your “local” area is set to faster shipping time. We tried automating a few weeks ago, and it pushed everything in the “local” area to 1st class - local being the whole South West for us. We changed the default settings to the same as the rest of the UK and hey presto 2nd class came back.

Do you have your handling time set at 2 days? Do you also have automated shipping settings? Try changing from 2 - 3 days delivery to 3 - 5 days. If you have an oba account with Royal Mail you can integrate with Amazon and that’ll give you the 48 hour option with Delivery Confirmation which is needed for the tracking rate

Have you tried changing the ‘Dispatch date’ using the drop-down menu on the Buy Shipping page?

RM Tracked 24 disappeared from alot of our Primes today - leaving us with no choice other than Evri.

I had this as well. Just cancelled the transaction and retried and 2nd class appeared

Hi, this may be a silly question as I do not use Amazon to buy postage but does Amazon give a VAT invoice so I can claim my VAT back on the UK postage (Buy Shipping’ the Royal Mail second class small parcel at £2.85), thanks
