Taxes - Summary charges

Hi,

I am being charged ‘taxes’ on each product but I am unaware of what taxes these could be. I am not VAT registered and it doesn’t appear to be 20%. Any ideas what this is?

Thanks

Your talking about someone who IS vat registered, which is totally not the case on this thread.

VAT is charged to sellers, in just the same way as it is if you buy something from a shop.
It is only when you are vat registered, that you can claim this cost back.

@JCMIA What your probably seeing, is the VAT charged on seller fees and nothing more.

Do you mean on their fees? If so, not being VAT registered doesn’t exempt you from paying VAT on them. Amazon being largely based outside of the UK might exempt you if you are in the UK, but you’d have to formally request exemption via a case. There are accounting implications from doing so though.

If those taxes would be VAT taxes should be 16.6% from the final selling price if the market is UK with 20%VAT. An item with 10GBP final cost will have 1.66gbp VAT to be colected for HMRC.
