USPS Holiday Price Increase 2024 OCT 6 2024 - Jan 15 2025
Hello, I noticed Amazon Shipping still is not reflecting the USPS price increase for the 2024 Holiday Season. I have not found any Amazon news articles shedding light on that. Is Amazon Shipping not going to see the increase in costs due to Amazon / USPS contracts or will the be updating a date later then OCT 6th?
Hoping to get MOD input as it would be helpful to know when / if the Holiday Price increase for shipping will go into effect for Amazon Buy Shipping. Also second question relating to this. Will Amazons 3rd party shipping program "I forget the name of it" also have the same shipping prices?

There was a price increase and it seems the difference between 1-4 and 5-8 has gotten a lot smaller with 1-4 being increased. Also, there's a problem with the update. The rate tiers are showing as 1-3, 4-7, 8-11, 12-15.99 when they should be 1-4, 5-8, 9-12, 13-15.99. Amazon has screwed up yet again with the buy shipping service. I did a bunch of 8 oz packages and realized I was getting charged the 9-12 oz rate and when I put 12 they charged the 13-15.99 rate.

Yes we have been noticing this seems Amazon intentional shifted the tiers for self profit. This it total crap costing us 60-90 cents more per order due to this BS! As of not anything that sells we are upping prices $1-5 so if Amazon is screwing the sellers we will pass the favor right back to the customers! Amazon making up tiers for pricing that conflict with usps shows you what kinda company Amazon is!

The big online postage sites (Amazon, Ebay, Stamps.com, PirateShip, etc.) all had the holiday price increase waived for packages under 21 lbs.

@Seller_QMHY087ZFYGDJ @Seller_s7F7fMBDtix0d Thank you for that question about USPS shipping rates.
Several sellers have asked about USPS rate updates over the past day, and I have shared these questions with our partner teams.
First: USPS has implemented temporary rate changes for the 2024 holiday shipping season. This peak-season pricing affects Priority Mail Express, Priority Mail and USPS Ground Advantage. These rate changes have been applied to Amazon Buy Shipping beginning yesterday, October 28.
However, as some sellers pointed out: there is an issue with Ground Advantage rate thresholds for shipments under one pound. The team confirmed that there is an issue and that they are working to correct it. I will follow up in the forums, including the below topic, when I receive updates, but a correction is being worked on.

I have updates to share regarding questions about USPS shipping from earlier this week:
- USPS implemented temporary rate changes for the 2024 holiday shipping season. These were applied to Amazon Buy Shipping beginning Monday, October 28.
- Some sellers including @Seller_gatjkdfPmzT4O reported that pricing / rate tiers were incorrect for some Ground Advantage shipments under one pound. The team confirmed there was an issue and a correction was implemented.
- Any correction credits due as a result of #2 above will be applied as carrier shipping adjustment credits for the difference between the paid and actual shipping charge. USPS processes adjustments in periodic batches, so please keep an eye out for any orders/adjustments you believe are due.

I am sorry but, I still say this is price gouging by the post office. Same as raising price on plywood during a hurricane, or TP during the pandemic. Usps should not be allowed to do this during Peak shipping time, they are getting more package volume so they are making extra money already for the higher volume. They are double dipping by asking for money for doing same or less quality work. Last year if I remember they did not do the increase to my memory. Service was terrible over the last few holiday shipping seasons. Packages 2-10 days later than Amazon estimated dates. I am sorry but if I don't do my job and am constantly late my boss is not giving me a temporary raise. JMO.
