First shipping from UK to US FBA

Hello,

A quick question which I hope will be simple for the more experienced sellers.

I’m looking to send some of my products to Amazon US for the first time from UK. Initially it’ll be individual parcels only, and they are unrestricted items (posters and paper products).

Can someone please advise me on the best options and how to go about managing the import/export paperwork?

I have done some research myself but without a definitive answer. I read a lot about the need to use a freight forwarder to deal with all the import/export documents, but also that these services are covered if you send by air using DHL/FedEx and a few others.

The latter seems to make more sense to me if I am only sending parcels rather than pallets - but before I go and send stock off to the US incorrectly I’d certainly appreciate some advice.

We send cartons through DHL, they act as the importer of record if each shipment cost of goods is a max of $1000
