The Seller Account Verification Process is a Nightmare! Please Help!

Hello everyone!

I’m new here and would like to share my experience with the verification of my Amazon account. I would also be extremely grateful if anyone could offer advice on how to proceed. Currently, I am stuck in the verification phase of my Amazon seller account. For the past three weeks, I’ve been trying to complete this frustrating and difficult process.

The main issue lies with the documents required for the "Proof of Address" step. Since my account is registered as a business, it is managed by two owners. Initially, I submitted Bank Account Statements for both owners, issued by an international bank. The documents included all the information Amazon requires—addresses, names, official stamps, and signatures of the institution. These documents were translated into English by a licensed translation agency.

When I submitted these to Amazon, they were rejected with the justification that the information in the documents does not match the information I provided during registration. This is completely absurd! I even sent screenshots to clarify, but I never received a satisfactory response.

The next set of documents I submitted included an electricity bill for one owner and an internet bill for the other owner. Again, these were translated, stamped, and contained all the required information. Yet again, Amazon rejected them with the same reasoning—that the information in the documents does not match what I provided.

Is this normal? Can anyone advise me on what I can do to resolve this issue?

Amazon should be encouraging people who want to do business on their platform, not discouraging them with unnecessary obstacles. In the end, a smoother process benefits both Amazon and their shareholders by driving more business!

Thank you in advance for any help or advice!

Amazon are LEGALLY required to check all this information. What they usually require is a utility bill in the name and address of every beneficial owner named on the account (what do you mean you are the owner but account is managed by 2 other people?). If all three of you are named on Amazon they require this info for all of you. They also require for the business a UTR Unique Tax reference number from HMRC toprove you are registered for tax purposes.

Every single seller on Amazon has to go through this process - sometimes several times!

As you mention that your documents have been translated, then I assume you do not live in UK.

If you intend to store your goods in UK for FBA then you will need to be VAT registered here, and have your business registered here, and preferably not with a virtual address used by many other businesses - Amazon do not seem to like virtual addresses !!

As above reply, Amazon need to verify not only your business details but also your personal ID info. This can all take quite a long time, and at the moment 3 weeks is not long in Amazon's time frame !.

Hello @Seller_P3YdeUXGOWVzD

Following on this thread. While I can't comment or provide you direct recommendations on how to handle verification process. My advice will be for you to check the information on the documentation you are providing are the same as the business name is register on the account. Same address and legal name. If the document is translated, please make sure the translation is accurate and is providing the same information as well.

As per peer Seller mentioned, This process could take more than 1 week as the verification process is very sensitive.

Any assistance, don’t hesitate to reach out to our support channel.

Regards,

JiAlex
