Incorrect Refferal Fees - Support are unwilling to fix them

We have some products that should be in Full Sized appliances (7% fee) but they're currently in Compact Appliances (15% fee).

We reached out to seller support who agreed that they are Full Sized Appliances, but then said they were correctly Compact Appliances. I even pointed out that under the guidelines on this page shows that even the smallest fridges are still considered Full Size Appliances for the purpose of referral fees.

We even have them confirming in writing, but declining to modify the referral fee category.

@Ezra_Amazon or @Sarah_Amzn is there anyone non-automated we can escalate this to? Right now Amazon is taking double the amount of fees as is appropriate and it's going to cost us thousands to recover the money from Amazon.

Is there no advice or help from Amazon? @Julia_Amazon@Sarah_Amzn@Simon_Amazon@Winston_Amazon @Ezra_Amazon, @Sakura_Amazon_, @Spencer_Amazon?

We are talking about big under counter fridges, explicitly called out by the guidelines as Full Sized Appliances, being forced into Compact Appliance category at twice the fee level.

This is costing us thousands in fees, for a really very clear-cut case of miscategorisation. I don't know where else to turn to get this sorted out?

Hello @Seller_NV0zIjAQqeMiZ,

Sorry for the delay in response. I have reached out to the partner team about this issue. After reviewing your case, they informed the following:

According to UK Amazon site, under-counter drinks/wine coolers are specifically classified as Compact Appliances, not Full-Sized Appliances, regardless of their dimensions. This is why the product (ASIN B082XZR8LS) falls under the 15% referral fee category.

The key distinction here isn't just about size, it's about product type and intended use. Under-counter beverage coolers and wine fridges are categorized differently from standard full-sized refrigerators, even when the product dimensions might suggest otherwise.

For future reference, here's what typically qualifies as Full-Sized Appliances (7% fee):

  • Standard kitchen refrigerators
  • Full-sized freezers
  • Standard kitchen ranges
  • Dishwashers
  • Washing machines
  • Dryers

While beverage coolers and wine fridges fall under Compact Appliances (15% fee), along with:

  • Mini fridges
  • Beverage centers
  • Wine coolers
  • Portable appliances

Cheers, Ezra
