new product
I am a second hand bookseller. Yesterday I tried to add a product, a book that is not already on inventory. Has anyone else manged to do that recently ?
The new form requires you fill in about fifty boxes. for one paperback book.
Some of the fields are baffling ; ABIS book, Amazon list Book Code Bisac.. Subject Code type. Subjrct Type. Part No. Publication date day/month/ year
all of this is nonsense. Worse, it indicates that there are another 20 boxes to fill on the next page, but I can't get off the first one.
so I open a case and ask, what exactly is Bisac ? Where do I find the Amazon List Book Code ? and what does that mean. i have asked three times now. and this is the reply I get.
''Hello from Amazon Selling Partner Support,
I understand you contacted us regarding listing a book.
BISAC codes allow the publishing industry to understand what type of book it is and where to shelve it in a bookstore, while the Amazon categories help the consumer to find the book through searches online. While they require different strategies, both are crucial to maximizing the visibility of the book.
Furthermore, regarding the Amazon Listing Code, please provide us the screenshot of this together with the ISBN so we can investigate this further.
To help us continually improve, we ask that you take a moment to complete our survey below to tell us about your experience with this specific interaction.
Were you satisfied with the support provided?
Was i satisfied ? What with ? you did not answer any of my questions. Clearly BISAC is important. i have already gathered that. But what IS IT ? where do i find it. ?
and even after asking again I got exactly the same reply. We are dealing either with bots or idiots, either way , listing new books is obviously a thing of the past.

Firstly you only need to fill in the required fields, ones marked with a red asterix.
I Googled BISAC and it was pretty obvious what was required from there.
