Advice on switching from Click & Drop to Amazon buy shipping
Hi All
I am in the process of switching from RM C&D to Amazon Buy Shipping. Mostly small parcels 2nd class. I have rried a few batches so far but have a few queries if anyone can advise?..
1. If I do bulk buy, some of the orders already have dimensions and weight against them, where does that info come from, I can't find that info in the edit listing anywhere? Some are wrong so what can I do about that as don't want to have to edit all the orders every time?
2. If I go to set up a shipping template for a common item in shipping preferences there is nowhere to put the weight (only dimensions) so how does that work?
3. I already have a daily collection from Royal mail for labels I have purchase via Click and Drop, do I have to change any thing on the collection side if the labels are now Amazon bought?
Thanks in advance

Hello @Seller_7G4mTOFwvnAjo
Thanks for your post on the forums.
Have you taken a look at the weight and dimensions in your product listings? Amazon may be relying on this information.
On the topic of Buy shipping in bulk, has some handy guidance:
Update the weight and dimensions for the order under the Weight and packaging column.
Regarding your last doubt, have you reached out to Royal Mail about the changes?
They might be able to offer some guidance on any adjustments needed for the label collection process.
Keep us updated. Cheers, Ezra

i think you have to go into each item and add the relevant info

3. No. No changes required. If you use C&D and Amazon shipping at the same time you will generate two lots of paperwork and the postie will scan whatever you have, - M

I went from RM C&D to using both RM and Buy Shipping (BS) and now I only use RM again
1. When I was using BS, the first time I sold a product, it allowed me to put in the weight, dimensions etc and would remember that information for the next time it sold. The first time it pulls that info from the listing but you can change it and it then remembers your changes for the next time.
2. You cannot setup a common weight of a product in the shipping template. It uses the method as explained in 1 above
3. The only change you have to make in your daily collection is to print out 2 manifests. One from RM C&D and the other from Amazon (Order Reports - End of Day Forms). All the parcels can go in the same sacks sorted as per usual on service. Give the collection person both sets of manifests to scan.
On a side note - the standard Amazon BS system is woefully lacking on many useful features. For example, if you need to re-print a shipping label or print out a picking/packing list. My advice is to use something like Packing Partner which will integrate not only with BS but C&D and will allow you to print picking/packing lists and reprint labels if needed.
Can I ask why you have decided to move from C&D to BS? As I said at the beginning I have now moved away from BS back to C&D. My reasons?
1. BS would sometimes tell me RM could not fulfil the estimated delivery date so would not let me select RM only a different courier which I had no account with (I would actually end up putting these through C&D anyway as it was impossible for me to use a different courier)
2. Although the help says BS will protect your metrics for items delivered late - believe me it does not. I had items delivered late and still got a defect in my metrics. Support were useless at getting the metric defect removed. It was a constant battle.
3. If you are worried about VTR then yes BS does guarantee you a 100% score. However, providing you upload tracking details properly at time of dispatch then you have no need to worry over VTR. I run at between approx 80-85% as RM do not scan all parcels on delivery. I get warning emails but Amazon check the numbers in the background and no one has yet been suspended for low VTR as long as they have correctly uploaded tracking IDs on dispatch.
4. RM often give discounts for sending quantities of parcels sent in one collection. When you separate C&D from BS the manifests are separate and so you will not get the batch quantity discounts.
5. If you are going to BS purely because of Prime then consider perhaps just put the Prime orders through BS and continue to us C&D for the standard delivery orders. I used to do Prime but stopped it when Amazon brought in the ruling that I had to do a weekend dispatch.

It maybe - but I no longer use BS and I also get some lines with CLICK & DRO beside them and some I dont. I haven't been able to figure out why that is the case as I now only use C&D (via Packing Partner) for all my orders whether from amazon, ebay or my website.
