Seeking Guidance: VAT Exemption for Listings with Turnover Below £85,000 - Advice Needed on Product Tax Code

Uploading our first listing, our annual turnover is below the £85,000 VAT threshold, making VAT inapplicable for business customers purchasing from our account. Ordinarily, the display includes "+ VAT" or "Excluding VAT," but I aim for it to simply show the price without any VAT indication. Seeking advice on a product tax code to designate our account as VAT exempt. Could anyone kindly provide any insights on this?

I am a bit confused by your question. You need to declare in your account info that you are not VAT registered - you do not add a code to a listing for this. If no entry is provided under "product_tax_code when listing an item, the item will default to your seller-defined default product tax code - i.e. no tax as you should have declared yourself as not VAT registered

If a seller is VAT registered the displayed price includes VAT - VAT is not added at the checkout.

If a seller is not VAT registered there is no VAT so obviously the displayed price does not include VAT.

Product detail pages do not say "price includes or excludes VAT" because one seller on the listing may be VAT registered and another seller on the listing may not be VAT registered.

Don't forget some may be viewing via Amazon Business.

There, it will show if a seller has a VAT Exclusive Price and that applies if the listing has multiple sellers. The featured offer will display based on the featured offer seller but it will display the relevant offer for others under Other Sellers.
