How is your August sales compare to last year?

Just wondering how is your august sales compare to last year? Mine has been the worst. Ads spending is more than last year but sales has drop 50%. Is anyone having the same issue?

We are selling on Amazon since 2016.

July and August had always been slow for us.

July July this year had been very good.

August so far has been dead. Like from 100 to 5.

But it only the third. And the day in not over yet..... Hoping... Praying....

The month is only 4 days old now. After over 50 years in sales worrying about it day to day is going to make for a really long and stressful career selling.

This month so far is SLOW but part of that was self inflicted -- I was adding new items and changing pricing. When I do that I go into vacation mode so something doesn't sell before the 'new improved (higher) prices take effect on the site. My wife wanted to go out to eat and I totally forgot to turn sales back on until after noon the next day.

July on the other hand was outstandingly good. Sales both in dollar terms and units sold were up over 200% from last year. LOTS of competition has left the site for a variety of reasons so that helps a lot.

Given the changing landscape and sellers getting booted for not being authorized and not having invoices instead of receipts I expect competition to continue disappearing which is fine by me.

This has been a horrible month.

I do not know what amazon is doing but if there changes are hurting people they should be refunding our PPC spend.

I was averaging about 5-10 sales a day and now just 2 today

Yes, our sales have plummeted by 40-50% since June 13th and it continues to this day. August was the worst month in many years. It also seems to us that something has changed in the Amazon algorithms. Perhaps the reason is also that the pandemic is over and people are spending money on holidays and preparing their children for school.

It all depends on many criteria, but we have not seen such a nightmare for a long time.

I'd like to hear other sellers' thoughts.
