Seller Fees (Negative Charges)
I'm new to selling on Amazon and i'm confused with fees/charges.
I reached out to support but they were extremely unhelpful and simply copy and pasted information from a help document they sent me. When I asked for clarification they pasted the same message over and over.
With a professional account, am I to understand that I am charged £30 a month fees + a % of fees per sale as well as being charged money if I haven't sold enough products?
I was aware of the £30 and % of sales but I recently got charged twice this month, when I asked they stated it is a payment to offset negative charges.

Selling on Amazon is a mind field and it is not easy my dear. Amazon in practice take 75% on your money that include fulfilment fees, advertisement, storage, and subscription for a professional account. you only take home approximately 25% revenue and that should include your profit margin. If you are been charge twice it might be you had advertise but make little or no sales but you will still have to pay for ads cost. also to note ads cost is plus 20% VAT also your Selling Fees if you are not VAT Reg. This in most case will surprise new sellers

Basically yes - on the professional account you pay £30 a month + % of sales income (including any shipping you charged)
If using FBA then you will also be charged a monthly storage fee for the items in their warehouse + a fulfilment fee when an item is sold.
Any other fee will be for other services you asked for such as ads, VAT registration filing, etc
You could get a negative balance if you have had to refund customers (not only the original price they paid but for the additional cost of the return shipping label Amazon may have provided). Amazon sometimes let the negative balance roll over till next month - but with new sellers they will often debit any payment method they have on file.
It should be clear in the monthly invoice what all the fees were for. Can you post an example of the fee you were charged and not expecting?
