Very much depends on what you plan to sell, and if it is a saturated market with hundreds of sellers selling the same thing, and Amazon is not a get rich quick scenario, despite what you might have read on various social media, with lots of hoops to jump through and metrics to maintain.

Yes, there does seem to be a lot of sellers saying they are leaving - though could be for many and varied reasons. You need to sit down and do your sums, and so much more. You say you just joined now, but then say been registered for several months ? - is your seller account fully verified ?

You should want to succeed in your business not because it is easy but because it is hard and potentially rewarding. If you want a quick buck, you won’t find it here.

Good luck.

The biggest plus so far is that you're reading the forums before investing in products rather than watching TikTok video's put out by people who really make their money there rather than on Amazon and blindly following their often inaccurate advice. That alone puts you streets ahead of many other new seller sign ups. You'll also see many recurring themes of why sellers have their accounts deactivated so you'll learn what not to do.

Yes some sellers are leaving Amazon but more are signing up each day than are leaving so the bigger problem is seller saturation. When many sellers are offering the same products bought from the same wholesalers at the same price they can only battle it out on their Amazon selling price so margins get eroded until there is so little left that the volumes have to be huge to compensate. Amazon encourages seller competition as it brings prices down for customers and Amazon still makes its margin regardless.

That said Amazon has the biggest potential customer base any new seller could hope for and getting started is cheap in comparison with most business models with the only upfront cost really being some stock. If you can be ahead of the curve and have the next big selling product/gadget in Amazon warehouses just before the surge in demand you can still make big money via Amazon.

If you already have a successful product retailing based business outside of Amazon it can be useful for picking up extra sales that you wouldn't otherwise get from the customers who don't look for their items externally.

Amazon offers lots of opportunity but that comes with lots of competition and many potential pitfalls only you can decide it it will be worth it. Some people can make it work, some can't.

My only issue is that FBA constantly miscounts items in their favour. So I am losing my items.

Otherwise its ok but people intend to buy items with free postage, this means FBA, which I really do not like to establish my business with.

They never investigate missing items even saying that investigation is completed. Be prepare to have this issue as well.

This is a great platform. I cannot even begin to say how much I have learnt from selling through Amazon, along with making loads of money, despite being a tiny wee insignificant seller. I have actually learnt to do business. I am just an unqualified person, a house-wife. But I have learnt more than many of those qualified out there sat in corporate offices and even earnt more money.

Like @Seller_ZVAz3d5lZuGidand the others articulately say, it isn't an easy route. Yet, there is a lot of learning material on the site and this forum is also a minefield of experience and information. Many sellers hold your hand and help you through any problems you face.

Many sellers move on due to different reasons. I wouldn't say that someone was right or wrong, only they would know their circumstances. But it is wise to make sure that you know not only what you are selling but also your target audience and what is available out there. You really need to price everything very competitively. This is not a platform where any seller could rip off buyers. Pricing competitively is key to money making seller experience. And ensure each and every policy is followed to the letter, when it comes to listing units.

One area that I can never come to terms with is seller support. Whilst you can expect fast resolution, don't count on them being seller-centric. So be prepared to have a love hate relationship with them.

What is most important to acknowledge that as a seller on Amazon, you wouldn't be just selling and making money, but also offering a great buyer experience. So be honest in trading and treat your customer as if they are right, always.

All the best, get into the bandwagon without any hesitation.

I would actually say that hesitation and doubts can be very helpful. I am not talking about confidence that one must have, but it's important to have enough doubts to do some proper research and not invest in 10,000 left socks or something equally unsellable. From time to time you get people on this forum that have wasted loads of money after they jumped on the bandwagon without thinking. So a bit of hesitation can be quite healthy if used to do some research.
