Amazon lost inventory again, underpaid again – I’m tired of begging for my own money

Hello Amazon Team and fellow sellers,

I’m a U.S.-based verified business. I buy directly from brands and distributors under official agreements.

All invoices, shipments, billing addresses — everything is in order, submitted, and tied to my verified account.

This is not the first time this is happening. I’m tired. I’m tired of writing, explaining, uploading, submitting, and begging Amazon to return the money for items it lost.

This time, I submitted Invoice #redacted for Shipment ID [hidden for privacy].

Amazon acknowledged the lost units — and then severely underpaid.

I tried updating sourcing cost (MYSC): system blocked me.

I submitted a re-evaluation: denied.

I escalated to leadership: denied.

Everything is documented. Yet, I still have to fight for $97.52 that I already spent on actual goods.

Here’s a breakdown:

- X004LSVBZL – 4 units at $8.76 → reimbursed $6.03 → shortfall: $10.92

- X004LT996X – 6 units at $9.45 → reimbursed $7.09 → shortfall: $14.16

- X004LT45PX – 6 units at $8.88 → reimbursed $7.82 → shortfall: $6.36

- X004LT2OBF – 8 units at $5.18 → reimbursed $4.61 → shortfall: $4.56

- X004LTB05V – 1 unit at $11.53 → reimbursed $9.58 → shortfall: $1.95

- X004LT9R0B – 1 unit at $39.96 → reimbursed $35.93 → shortfall: $4.03

- X004LT9NMN – 2 units at $54.37 → reimbursed $32.72 → shortfall: $43.30

- X004LT9HQP – 2 units at $10.85 → reimbursed $9.23 → shortfall: $3.24

- X004LT81OJ – 3 units at $4.62 → reimbursed $3.91 → shortfall: $2.13

- X004LT6ST9 – 3 units at $8.34 → reimbursed $6.05 → shortfall: $6.87

Total underpaid: $97.52

And I’m not even counting the shipping, prep, labeling costs that I paid out-of-pocket.

How are we supposed to run a real business on Amazon if we have to spend hours fighting to recover lost inventory?

How do you forecast profitability, manage logistics, or grow — if you lose our inventory and then refuse to reimburse full cost?

This is exhausting. It’s disrespectful.

I don’t want to spend my time chasing every dollar. I want to spend it running my business.

If this can’t be resolved through Seller Support, I’ll move it externally:

BBB, Attorney General, legal notice. I’m done begging.

Fix this.

Thank you.

@Seller_EXzR60mt85soM Thank you for posting to our Forums!

Please note that under the FBA Reimbursement Policy, Sellers (when applicable) will be reimbursed based off the Sourcing Cost of their item.

“Sourcing cost” means your cost to source a product from a manufacturer, wholesaler, reseller, or produce the item if you are the manufacturer. It excludes costs such as shipping, handling, customs duties, or other costs.

You can navigate to the Manage Your Sourcing Cost help page for instructions on how to manage/update your Sourcing Cost.

I hope this information finds itself useful to you! Please let me know if you need me to look into any specifics of your Seller Support Case.

Thank you!
